In 1789 on the 14th of July, an  important event in Paris was underway which would change history. A few days earlier, a violent revolution had begun and the tempers were flaring and out rage at it’s peak! The citizens of Paris, infuriated stormed the Bastille, a fortress and prison in France where prisoners of influence were held, in hopes of capturing ammunition.

A historic up rising up of the people if you will, it’s still an important day in France,  as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790.

And just like that, its now summer in France. With the sunshine rolls into town the Tour De France. Running from Saturday July 2nd to Sunday July 24th 2016, the 103th Tour de France will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,535 kilometers.

Announcement – Welcome Back Chef

It’s with great delight, that we welcome back to the kitchen and team at The French Brasserie Executive Chef Lionel Abello. Lionel is no stranger to The French Brassier, where he held the position and role of Head Chef for 3 years.

After some time off, travel, personal projects and endeavours it was time to him to return, and we’re thrilled. Expect some signature dishes of Lionel’s to appear on the menu and also as specials.

He’s a long and illustrious career under his belt, worked in some of the best Restaurants around, love to cook with Duck Fat and is partial to great Spanish Tapas and wine. Welcome back Chef!
