Discover Melbourne this Winter
If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s to appreciate being able to get out and about and to see and enjoy our beautiful city and home. As restrictions ease and the city of Melbourne is back open again, it’s nice to see some normalcy return to the CBD, but we’ve a little way to go, before it’s a one was hustling metropolis again.
With that said though, we’d love to welcome you back to the French Brasserie dining at our table and enjoying our hospitality and haute cuisine.
Here are a few great things you can do in Melbourne this winter:
1. Take in an exhibition
French Impressionism from the Fine Arts of Boston (USA) is currently on display at the National Gallery of Victoria. From now until the 3rd of October. In an international exclusive, the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) presents a major exhibition of more than 100 masterworks of French Impressionism in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), an institution renowned world-wide for its rich holdings of Impressionist paintings.
Part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition series, French Impressionism features works by Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Mary Cassatt and more – including 79 works that have never before been exhibited in Australia. These important loans from the MFA’s iconic collection provide the rare opportunity to see a significant grouping of Impressionist masterworks in Australia.
French Impressionism charts the trajectory of the late-nineteenth century artistic movement, highlighting the key milestones and figures at the centre of this period of experimentation and revolution in modern art.
2. Discover the Magic of Disney - See Frozen the Musical or Discover the Magic of Disney Animation.
A trip to Disneyland Paris is off the cards this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take in the whimsical wonder of this beloved brand – for children of all ages.
Discover the creativity and innovation of almost 100 years of Disney Animation in ACMI's Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition. Held now until 17th of October, this is the first time this exhibition has been shown in Australia. The exhibition contains original sketches and rare artworks from 1928 to the present day, including the latest release Raya and the Last Dragon, exclusive to Melbourne and all the classics you love and know.
