Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition

Exclusive to Melbourne this Summer, Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition lets you step inside one of the most famous tragedies in modern history. The interactive exhibition held at the Melbourne Museum features over 200 authentic artefacts recovered directly from the wreck site, taking visitors on a memorable journey through the stories of those who travelled and worked on board the ship.

The exhibition features innovative technologies to create an interactive experience, including full-scale recreations of the ship’s interiors and the chance to touch an iceberg at the same temperature as the North Atlantic Ocean’s freezing waters that night. For Titanic fans old and new, the exhibition won’t be one to miss!

Tickets are available until April 14.

Nocturnal: Museum After Dark

Explore a unique adult-only exhibition of dinosaurs at the Melbourne Museum, unlike anything you’ve seen before. The after-hours experience called ‘Nocturnal’ takes place every second Thursday of the month, allowing you to discover the secrets and mysteries behind some of the world’s most fascinating exhibits.

Whether with friends or your Valentine, there’s plenty to enjoy from tours and talks to trivia and wearable art drop-ins. You can also enjoy delicious cocktails, food stalls, and a late-night DJ, making it a perfect way to spend your night at the Melbourne Museum.

The Story of the Moving Image

Have you ever considered how the images on our big and small screens came to be? The Story of the Moving Image exhibit showcases the evolution of moving images, from ancient shadow puppets to modern-day cinema.

From the heart of Melbourne at the Australian Center of Moving Images, the free interactive and immersive exhibition allows you to discover how inventors, innovators and artists of the 20th century wielded light, split time and captured motion like never before.

See the creation and use of ancient puppets, Victorian-era magic lanterns, iconic costumes, movie sets, sketches, clips, contemporary art, original cameras and more!
